A New Persepective

The Blue Mosque from the Hagia Sophia. ©2014 Nathaniel Stich (If you want to use this photograph, please email me.)

One of the most humbling sites I have ever visited is the Hagia Sophia. It dates from 537CE. It seems simultaneously weightless and massive from every angle. Walking around it was the closest to living in a dream that I have ever come. Istanbul remains one of my favorite cities that I have ever visited. As a westerner, whose only other visits to the middle east was on the travel channel, this view from the Hagia Sophia to the almost as beautiful Blue Mosque might as well be another dreamscape.
